Yusuke fought against the overwhelming tide of his demon blood, quelling it forcefully. He wondered briefly of some vague thought before returning his mind to the task at hand. Of course, they were only half-way up the staircase, so there wasn't much he could do at the moment. He anticipated the moment when they would actually arrive in the Makai, the place somehow felt of home to him. Perhaps that was just his demon blood talking, but then again, with the young toushin, you could never be too sure. Oh he knew his friends would protest to his staying there, particularly his former rival and now-best-friend Kuwabara as well the toddler and Botan. But it was his choice was it not? To stay there and do with his life what he would? After all, he had nothing to tie him to this place anymore.

Kurama glanced back once to the foot of the steps as he continued up. He half expected to see someone else at the bottom. Someone they knew who wouldn't approve of this. That would be quiet a few people, now that he thought more about it. The kitsune gave a quiet sigh, as his mind was forced back to reality. His gaze drifted back to Yusuke. I'd be different here without him and the cocky attitude they were used to.

It didn't take long for a boy as spirtiually adept as Kazuma to locate the pair, and breathlessly he approached with a rather disconted scowl and a heavy heart. "Urameshi!" He shouted towards his former companion. "You arn't actually going back to that freaky place are you?!" He decided to rush it..if he didn't manage to get that out right off the bat he didn't imagine he would at a later date.

At the question shouted at him by his comrade the young toushin sighed, turning and looking down at Kuwabara, hands on his hips, "Yes, actually. Why? You coming along?" He questioned with a half-hearted smirk, the idea of the offer to tempting to pass up. Actually, he figured his friend would decline and berate him for awhile before Yusuke would actually manage to leave. Of course, by that time, he'd have to explain his actions to everyone and he didn't really feel like having the Toddler confront him about his choices at the moment. He simply gazed at his former rival, one brow raised delicately.

Kurama was a bit surprised to find that someone did indeed come, and it was none other than Kuwabara. He said nothing yet, and only waited for his answer. It raise his spirit just a little to see his friend acting more like his old self.

His fists curled and tightened of their won accord. "You serious?" for the first time in along while he was possessed by the irrepressibly deep urge to clock Yusuke upside the head, and restraining himself to this point was quit impressive. "I'm not going...and neither are you..." it was all he could manage without lunging forward and throwing himself upon the boy.

Yusuke shrugged noncomittedly, "I'm going, may not be coming back, but I sure ain't sitting around here any longer. Just thought you might want in on the action." With that he turned, starting up the staircase once more, a sort of, lethargically apathetic air about him. Oh he was well aware that he was pushing his friend's little red button, you know, the one with the big words DO NOT PUSH written on it? To tell the truth, the raven-haired demon was surprised Kuwabara /hadn't/ tried to knock some sense into him. It most likely wouldn't help any, but it would, in some odd way, assure Yusuke that he wasn't going insane.

Kazuma furrowed his dark brows for a moment jaw nearly as tight as his now white-knuckled fists the size of veritable grapefruit. "The heck you are.." He took off up the steps in a rather similar manner to the movement of a steam locomotive and passed Yusuke quickly wheeling about face him, the step giving him another six inches on his friend. "You expect me to just roll over and let you go back there?! If your going...than so am I, someone's gotta drag your sorry butt back out of there.." he leaned forward slightly shading his eyes for a moment. When all the steam seemed to have left his already boiling red hair he thrust his fist in Yusuke' general direction with whatever strength he could muster, contact, would be reassuring.

The force of the blow, however hard it had been, knocked the Spirit Detective backwards, and he tripped, falling rather ungracefully onto his behind and glaring up at the taller figure. The pain was, oddly, rather reassuring to him. For reasons of his own of course. "You comin' then?" He questioned from his place, not the least bit angry with his friend. He did deserve that, having pushed him. Of course, it was rather uncharacteristic of him, he knew, but he'd been doing a lot of uncharacteristic things lately. He allowed a half-hearted smirk to once more form over his features, though one hand rubbed lightly at the spot where his tall comrades fist had connected with flesh. It still hurt.

Kurama wasn't surprised, and hardly reacted, only glancing up at Kuwabara. What he did could only be expected from someone like him, given the situation, and he knew Kuwabara may act this way in reaction to Yusuke's whole crazy plan. He sighed deeply and gave a light shrug. "There's no stopping him now," he told him. I'd only be worse if he stayed behind. One would be more than disturbed for a while if they were left behind while their friends left for a place as dangerous as demon world. Kurama himself hated to feel so blind, blind to what was happening, or just how much trouble those friends could conjure up for themselves.

"Yeah..." He responded cracking his knuckles and stretching his back abit "I'm comin', but my sis' will have a cow when I tell er'...she's been real strict with my studies..." His voice had seemed to regain it's gruff unruffled fluidity as he loosened his jaw slightly. "When are ya leavin'?" He asked mostly to discover the appropriate time for him to gather his things and face his sibling's wrath...that and leave her a nice note reminding her to feed dear Eikichi while he was away. That, and it would be in his best interest to explain all this to Yukina before he was wisked away to the demon world.

"Soon as I can. You'd better get to doing whatever you're plannin' on doing. If I hang around here much longer Botan'll get word to the Toddler about what I'm planning." Yusuke muttered as he stood, stretching slightly and looking over at his tall friend. "You don't have to come Kuwabara, I'm a big boy. Besides, I most likely ain't gonna be comin' back with ya." He had to tell him, if he didn't tell him then, he most likely wouldn't get to it later. Better to face it now than never.

Kurama gazed blankly at the shine situated at the top of the staircase, as he had been earlier. He didn't seem to be paying attention to their conversation, but in truth the kitsune was listening intently. He still chose to keep quiet, and let the two of them talk. He'd follow Yusuke whether Kuwabara came or not.

"Yeah..we'll see about that.." With a great deal of strength he managed a sort of queer half smile and false airy laugh. "I'd better get goin' then, don't want to miss my train..." That said he swerved about Yusuke hurridly, dismounted the strairway and sped along the road...why such a hurry? Why don't you just try and figure that one out then. ^^

"Kuwabara! If you tell anyone, I swear you're gonna eat the ground!" Yusuke called after the taller boy, unsure if he would actually have to carry out that threat. Of course, the logical thing to do would be to go ahead and leave, no further problems. Accept his damn conscience. Inari curse it. "Darn it." He muttered to himself, ruby-flecked chocolate gaze following after his friend's form.
