Kurama understood what he planned to do. Yet he let him leave, considering he couldn't do much to stop him now. He only stood there, until Yusuke had left the courtyard, and only then did he head back to his own home. Most likely he would finally be there more than just a few minutes later than he was supposed to return, but that was the least of his worries at the moment. Still that didn't mean he couldn't think ahead. It was a habit of his anyhow, and even if he didn't mean to, he would occasionaly ponder about these things.

The young Spirit Detective was at the end of his chain, and he didn't know what else to do. His pace took him by Kuwabara's residence but he simply paused briefly before walking on. No sense in stopping there, the honor-bound 'idiot' would just try to stop him. Of course, he meant 'idiot' in the best possible way. Yusuke knew no matter what he had to retain the tight reign he had over his demon blood unless he wanted to remain in the Makai forever. He wasn't entirely sure what he was doing was the right thing at all, in fact, he'd nearly convinced himself it wasn't. But hell, even heroes had their problems. Raven hair stuck up at odd angles as he continued on, one part of him pleading inside for someone to stop him, the other part, his torn soul, wanting revenge on those that had taken something from him. He was torn, broken and didn't know where to go or what to do. So, being who he was, he followed his instincts.

Kurama unlocked the door, greeting his mom as usual with a quick 'hello', then headed up the stairs to his room. He didn't bother to do his homework for once, which was rare of him. Then again he hardly had anything better to do, unlike today. He quickly dropped off his bookbag in his room, and descended the stairs to find his mother. He found her again in the kitchen, and had no problem convincing her that he had to leave again. By now she was used to such requests, and granted it without further question, but of course, hoped her son would be safe. With a quiet sigh, he was finally able to leave the house. Slipping both hands into his pocket, he ambled down the sidewalk casualy once again.

Yusuke walked on determinedly, a matching expression plastured on his face. He'd given up on waiting for someone to come around and stop him, he would go ahead with his plan, whether it damned his soul or not. He couldn't help but smirk at the thought of what the Almighty Toddler of Hell would do when he found out. Oh the irony of life. The young toushin was somewhat confused at the moment. These emotions he was filling were nothing new of course, but the amount of them, the way they were all mixed together, that was unfamiliar to him and he didn't like them one bit. "Darn it.."

Kurama stolled on in his general direction, taking only a few seconds to pin point his location. It wasn't all that hard, now that he could feel Yusuke's energy getting slightly more intense as he approached. Soon enough, the toushin came into view around the next corner. By the expression glued to his face, Kurama guessed he'd already stopped caring about whatever consequence his plan would earn him. "Are you really sure this is what you're going to do?" he questioned, half hoping he'd change his mind.

Ruby-tinted chocolate eyes turned quickly towards the red-haired kitsune. He'd startled the young toushin, "No, but it's all I can think of." He admitted, shrugging indifferently. The raven-haired Spirit Detective didn't really want to go back on Koenma's orders, not after what the junior god had gone through for his sake. He knew the demons had been killing numerous humans by reports from the news and evidently, the toddler hadn't yet been notified of recent happenings. Yusuke not only wanted revenge, he wanted to do his job.

The kitsune release a quiet sigh, not wanting to try to reason with him anymore. He'd tried that already and it didn't exactly work out. "Well if you're going to demon world at least allow me to come with you." It sounded mostly like an offer, but also partialy like a demand. Koenma wouldn't be happy, but in a sense Yusuke was being somewhat resonable. Sometimes one had to go against rules and orders.

Yusuke didn't seem surprised at this, he'd half expected his comrades to demand to go with him. For the first time in a while a grin, the toushin's usual one, split across his features. "Thanks fox-boy." He couldn't resist reverting back to the old nickname, the thought having been much to tempting to pass up.

Kurama gave the kind, warm smile he always did, glad that he hadn't denied his wish. "Well then, now that that's settled, how do you suppose we get to demon world?" He was definately curious about what he'd been thinking.

The raven-haired boy smirked, "Come on Kurama, you already forget my Toushin status allows me to create my own portals?" He questioned, this being the truth. Yusuke could freely travel between the realms, he'd just been stalling himself as he'd not wanted to go yet. He sighed, loose hair blowing about in the wind to stick up at odd angles. "I still can't believe she's gone.." He murmured, more to himself than to his red haired companion.

He could create portals now. Kurama let his eyes close as he laughed silently. He suddenly remembered Yusuke when he first me him, with hardly any idea what he was doing. Still it was rare of him to forget things. Creating portals between worlds would be pretty convenient for a spirit detective, another reason Koenma hadn't chosen wrong. He sighed, opening his eyes once more as he mentioned Keiko, the same smile no longer lighting his features. "Most people will lose someone like you have sometime in their life. However the stronger ones can move on afterwards."

"And I will...As soon as I get these demons and kick their sorry hides all the way to Reikai. That way they can't go around killin' anymore innocent people." So it wasn't just revenge that drove him after all. The young man's instincts, honed by several years as Spirit Detective, had decided to kick in. Well, at least the old Yusuke was partially back. It seemed the prospect of doing something other than sitting around the shrine or wandering the city perked the broken boy up a bit. He knew well enough that Keiko wouldn't have wanted him to end up like that, wouldn't have wanted him to neglect himself and everything around him. He just hadn't been able to help it. She'd been there through everything and now she was gone. He sighed, head shaking yet again.

Kurama's smile returned, glad that he was finally thinking straight again. "Well if you going to 'kick their sorry hides'," he quoted the toushin, "then I suggest we leave soon." The quicker they finished the better. If Reikai discovered what he planned, they may be a bit short on the undisturbed time he may have wanted.

The young toushin nodded, "Yeah...I guess we should get goin' before His Royal Shortness finds out." He stated decisively, heading off in the direction he knew Genkai's shrine to be in. Puu was waiting for him there, and that was one of the few places he could open a portal without hurting anything around him. Arms went behind his head in his usual fashion, pausing only briefly to allow his kitsune companion to follow. Something stirred within him at the prospect of going back to the Makai. His ancient, demon blood was fighting more and more at the restraint he had over it. He could keep it held well enough. Unless, of course, a huge imbalance between his reiki and youki occured. Then he would be in trouble.

Kurama caught up quickly and walked beside him, his thoughts almost echoing his Yusuke's own. Sure, he was worried, but he no longer wanted to see Yusuke like he had been earlier today. Remembering the tree, split roughly in half by his friend, it pained him to see the toushin so frustrated. He scarcely thought about what may happen later, too absorbed in other issues to even try.
