Even the heart-sick toushin had to smile at Kuwabara's offering, "Nah, not hungry." He answered, voice quiet. He knew he'd been the cause of the awkwardness, but didn't really care much. "Doin' th' best I can K'rama." The young man replied to the kitsune's question lightly, though he knew he that was far from the truth.

Kurama smiled, but more in pity than amusement. At least he was feeling a bit more at ease with the conversation that had started off so awkwardly. "Kuwabara has a point. You really do look like you haven't had a descent meal in a while," he commented, obviously concerned.

He shrugged, "Like I said, I ain't hungry." His words held a slightly annoyed tone to them. They weren't all gonna start gettin' all paternal on him now were they? Kami, did he hope not. That was something he seriously wouldn't be able to stand. He took a light step back as he spoke, raising a hand to back up his words. Gaze turned towards Kurama and then back to Kuwabara. One might describe the demon lord as an animal just released from a cage.

"Aw, come on Urameshi! You can't just waste away because of what happened!" He exhaled heavily and tried to gather his thoughts before speaking (which was rare) "Look, I know you're really bummed about Keiko, trust me, we all are..but that dosn't mean you can just treat yourself like trash..." It was all he could really manage at the present, sentimentatlity really wasn't one of his strong suits...especially sense his school work had kept him from Genkai's shrine, and his beloved more and more.

Kurama said no more, knowing he shouldn't be pushed any farther than he needed to be. Instead he only listened for now as Kuwabara began to argue with him. He glanced up once, using the sun as a clock, and realized he may have to leave them soon, less he give his mother something to worry about.

"Darn it Kuwabara, is there a crime against a guy not bein' hungry? I'm dealin' with this the best I can." Yusuke hadn't meant to explode like that, but of course, not meaning to meant nothing. He did of course, fight for control against the demon blood coursing through his veins. That was something he wouldn't do, lose control of that on his friend. No, that was definitely out of the question. His lanky comrade was simply worried about him and he was right.

Kurama turned as his voice rose, but otherwise hardly reacted. "Calm down Yusuke," he advised calmly, "We're just a bit concerned about you." Although 'a bit' wasn't entirely accurate. "There's no reason to get upset now."

No, there was of course no reason to be upset...but stubborn boys tended to do things without reason, didn't they? "It's no easier on us havin' to deal with you moping around the place, don’t ya’ ever stop to think about anyone else? You might as well just hold up at home lickin' your wounds with my sis..." That said he drew himself from the ground with a sort of unnatural ease and offered Kurama a short 'Later.' before trudging off at a hurried pace towards his residence, it was probably best that he chosen not to blow off his steam directly /on/ Yusuke and rather to vent at home. He was In all actuality terribly worried about his friends condition, but being the pig-headed young /punk/ he was, or rather tried to portray despite his true good-nature he couldn’t bring himself to do so.

Yusuke said nothing, dull gaze turning to trail after the tall, lanky boy. He sighed, shaking his head and, without a word to Kurama trudging off towards a nearby tree. Pausing before it he gazed at it a long moment, one hand raised and curled into a tight fist. After a long moment he pulled back and punched the tree nearly as hard as he could, causing it to split with a loud 'crack' and fall. What was he supposed to do? Didn't they understand this was the only way he could keep himself from breaking Koenma's orders and going after the demons? But of course, he didn't think they even knew that the Junior God of Hell had forbade him from the case. He knew he was being selfish, even if he didn't mean to be. But, as stated earlier, it was the only way to keep him from doing something extremely stupid. The young Toushin sighed once more, gaze drifting once more along the path his former rival had traipsed off in.

Kurama, likewise, watched as their friend left them. A good decision, seeing what Yusuke did next. It was bound to attract attention to him, but luckily everyone was sane enough to know not to get involved in anything like this. The kitsune sighed, looking up once at the clear, blue ocean above that was the sky, knowing he should probably leave as well. He dropped his gaze, back to the frustrated toushin. "Yusuke, I can understand this is hard for you," he spoke carefully, "but you're wrecking yourself, and I'm sure Keiko wouldn't want to see you like this." Kurama turned to leave as well.

"You don't get it. I'm doing this because its the only way I can manage to stay sane. I'm /helping/ myself. Koenma's forbidden me to go after the demons that did this, and I'm trying to follow that order. Darn it Kurama, what else can I do? The Almighty Toddler won't allow me to go to the Makai at all, so I'm stuck mopin' around here like some sort 'o lost dog. You think I want to act like this? Hell no, I want to be out there doing what I do best, but evidently Koenma thinks I don't need to be." He was ranting, he knew it. But it sure felt good to get all that out, and now at least, someone besides him knew of the Toddler's orders. Being here, staying here idly was driving the Toushin crazy.

Kurama stopped and glanced back at him. "Well maybe Koenma's right. You'd lose your sanity faster if he let you track those demons out of revenge. You don't need to drown yourself in misery just to keep yourself under control. Ask Genkai to teach you meditation if you must, but your own methods won't work forever."

"Grandma's already taught me meditation. It don't work. Darn it...I just want to keep busy, but since I don't have anything to keep me busy I end up mopin' around. I don't mean to, it just happens. If you happen to talk to Botan or Koenma, how about puttin' in a word about givin' me a case?" He was pleading, but stopped short of sounding desperate. He did have his pride after all, and no amount of sadness or depression could rid him of that. He sighed once more, turning his gaze skywards as he shook his head again.

Kurama sighed, knowing few things would help him at this point. He turned his gaze toward the street, and watched as people passed by. "You could always try to be like everyone else and consentrate on your school work. To take your mind off everything all together," he suggested.

The raven-haired toushin gave a derisive snort, "School? When has school ever helped me Kurama? Besides...It would just remind me of her more." The toushin sighed, knowing he was being unfair in asking his friends for help. They had more than enough problems of their own. He turned away, ruby-tinted eyes saddened somewhat. "Sorry Kurama, it was good seeing you, hope it ain't the last time." With that last mysterious comment the heart-sick, broken, Spirit Detective turned back towards Kurama briefly, offering, even through his sadness, a genuine smile before replacing his calloused hands behind his head in his usual fashion and strolling off with casual innocence. It was impossible to tell what the Toushin had meant with his comment as there was any number of things he could do. His particular idea, however, meant that he could very well not be coming back and Spirit World would be in chaos when Koenma found out Yusuke had disobeyed his order. The broken boy couldn't stand it any longer though, he had to get out of there. He just hoped they wouldn't hate him too long for it.
