The wind stirred restlessly, speaking of strange acts. It seemed to hold a high level of energy in it tonight, an energy not seen in the human realm in years. The stars shared their light with the mystical full moon that night, it's light bathing the old shrine. The portal opened with a bright flash of bluish white energy, a mixture of reiki and youki. So, the toushin had come back. It had been years since he'd left for the Makai, leaving word with Yukina that he was going to train for the tournament that would be taking place that year. Rumors had surfaced later on that he'd won the tournament, but they were hardly true. He'd not even entered that tournament, merely watched. It had been quite the surprise when Lord Enma of all people had contacted him. The Reikai Lord had told him that Koenma had been kidnapped along with about half of the Reikai staff. Including Botan and Ayame. Loyalty had tugged at him, and he'd agreed to go on this last mission, take on the duties of Spirit Detective this one last time. That was why he was here, for what was the Spirit Detective without his team? Hiei had already been alerted, he was here for Kuwabara and Kurama, and finding them, to him, wouldn't be to hard. The raven-haired demon lord was dressed in a simple fight outfit that consisted of a white robe-type suit that was tied about the waist with a green piece of cloth, his pants also white. He did look out of place though, what with his waist-length spiked hair and navy markings that decorated his features. So, he'd decided to take on his Toushin form after all. He smirked as he stepped onto the grass of Ningenkai, falling all to easily into that cocky facade that was so easily associated with him. It may have been years, but Yusuke was still Yusuke. His thoughts dwelled briefly on his heir, and whether or not she could handle running his place while he was gone. That thought was soon banished as he grinned, of course she could handle it. She'd done it before. With that, the Toushin Spirit Detective set out to find his team.

Hm, who was this to be curious but Saine or Insaine if you wish to make fun of her. It really didn't matter, but with keen eyes she watched. With those simply brick-red eyes, but this seemed of some interest as well by time nothing much did happen to her. Now these features, were they ever rumored before, or was it not? She slowly kept her steps casual, but at most likely she'd be caught as always. Her aching wounds healed, not all, but some. Then again some new ones were appearing, but there was no care to them. The illusion of a fox kept things well though, with lies, and so on. The thought sprang as she came one with one, and maybe this was true? Her assumptions she could never take too much on, but let her mind wait. Brushing back strands of silver hair she pulled it into a band, and pulled on some jeans. These jeans were once again to big for her, and one would probably ask if she got her clothes from the 'Lost in Found' recently. That wasn't the case, she didn't like tight things that much, and as well she wore a blouse. Over it a loose T-shirt she happen to come by that said "I'm not there" and a small Cheshire cat along it from Alice from Wonderland.
It wasn't much, but then again she didn't like being dressy. No, she wouldn't pay mind to being dressy. Then she'd have to be very picky on her things. That limited her choices and that wasn't a good idea for he now. Stretching her neck she cracked it, and cracked it again the other side. It was being to quiet, but she’d be most likely noticed with he talkative self. Then talking to herself in mind was not a choice due to the possibility she’d loose her mind. Then in reality she wouldn’t know what she was doing.

Jess yawned, her bronze hair covering up most of her face. The cat demon/dragon hybridation was fast asleep in her favorite tree, a twisted, gnarly old thing that shielded her from view. Coal-black ears twitched gently as the wind made the forest shudder, and her tail of similar color and species was twisted tightly around the branch on which she lain. The hybrid had known Yusuke for a while now, and the two considered each other good friends. But she'd stayed in Ningenkai with the toushin's former sensei, Genkai. Mostly for a mix of training and solitude. Things had been hellish in her homeland of Luna Solo, and the place had too many bad memories; of Toguro, her parents, and her past. So she'd stayed with Genkai for a short time. But right now those pains were far away. Jess slept, devoid of these memories, whilst Sha-Rin, her sea dragon Spirit Beast, guarded his mirror self. Fortunently, hardly anyone ever went this far into the forest, for fear of 'evil spirits'. The only 'evil' thing here was Sha-Rin's breath.

(Ok then.....)
Tanya was walking towards the area. She was wearing her usual clothes- her blue short sleeved top that has a sky-blue hooded-cape attached to it and blue jeans. Her long back-length orange hair, filled with golden-yellow highlights, waved behind her as she walked. Today, she decided to show the other parts of herself. Her dark-orange dragon ears sticking out on the sides of her hair, dark-orange dragon wings on her back, and her dark-orange arrow-shaped tail swaying behind her while she walked. Why she was showing her demonic features today was a total mystery, for she would never do this in public. Tanya herself doesn't know why she's done this either, but hey, she has always been a mysterious demon.
Her ruby diamond necklace gave a bounce with each step and so did her blade, the Dragon Fang. As she walked, her emerald green eyes were now gazing up ahead, at Yusuke.

A shadow, a rather large shadow, passed over the forest near the shrine. It was the shape of a large bird, perhaps one with an enormous wing-span. Or maybe a giangantic blue phoenix with a black mohawk? And one can't forget the large eyes and floppy ears. Yes, Yusuke's Spirit Beast had come as well, having refurse, point blank, to follow his reflection's instructions and stay behind. He crooned in his soothing way as he flew overhead, a certain raven-haired toushin following his progress on the ground. It was quite easy for him to get through the forest, as he still knew the place like he knew himself. He wondered briefly how his old friends were, how Genkai was, all those typical questions one whos been away for a long while has. Feh, he'd find out soon enough.

Tanya thought of herself as a good friend with Yusuke, ever since she'd been going to his school. And it would be nice to see him again, after all these few years that have gone by. Though, it seemed she knew more about him, than she knew about herself, which angered her. Although she now knows that her parents and race have all come from demon world, she doesn't remember anything else about the rest of her past or her family. Her parents died a 5 years after she was born and how no idea if she had any other relatives. The only 'family' she had now was her step-father, Ryo, who is a demon cat- a white tiger demon. She had too many questions for her own self to answer and not knowing anyone else who could help answer them made her even more enraged.
As she brushed aside her questioning thoughts and the few pieces of her past, she looked back towads Yusuke. Tanya doesn't know that this Demon-looking person upahead is Yusuke, but some other demon she had not maet before. Though, this person does look very fimilar to her.

Sha-Rin looked up and noticed the large shadow passing overhead. Squealing with delight, a very un-dragonlike thing to do, the great sea dragon flew after his friend, leaving Jess to wake up, wondering what in the name of the Sacreds had caused Sha-Rin to squeal. Yawning and stretching, the demon girl picked a few twigs out of her baggy red t-shirt and ragged jeans, then flew after her Spirit Beast, puzzled .

The kitsune wandered casualy through the forest, the moonlight seeping through the foliage lighting his path. Kurama had gotten wind of Yusuke's arrival ahead of time from the fire demon, and hopefully he could find the toushin on the way toward the shrine. His mother didn't know of his whererabouts, nor did she know he was out of the house at this time of night at all. He had no need to wake her up to tell her, and besides, if nothing outrageous happened all of a sudden, he could return home before morning, and before she woke up. He was dressed in a simple blue coat over a white shirt and jeans. Kurama hardly walked very far at all when the large figure passed overhead, shadowing the area for a moment until the spirit beast passed by. He heard footsteps following, coming closer if he wasn't mistaken. He nearly recognized the usual pattern of the toushin's steps. Langurous emerald eyes finally caught sight of his friend, and the corners of his lips raised in a warm smile. He hadn't seen the detective for a while, and it was nice to see the cocky natured boy again. Aside from the new demon form, he didn't seem much different than he'd always been.

As Tanya walked on, she saw the shadow of a spirit beast passing by. At that moment, she knew her friend Yusuke was somewhere nearby but not exactly where. She had sensed Yusuke's presence eariler, so she knew he was here somewhere around here. Her dragon ears twitched, hearing the squeal of a creature close by. Her emerald green eyes looked about the area, wondering what had mad that noise. She figured it might just be some little spirit beast or something, but ignored it.
As she started getting closer to what she was searching for, she now felt the presence of the Kitsune, Kurama. A small breeze of wind started to blow, forcing Tanya's hair to the right of her face. She placed the strands of her orange hair back behind her ears and slowly placed both hands into the sides of her blue jean pockets. As she glanced up ahead, she spotted Kurama.

A grin split across the toushin's features as he noticed Kurama, but also at the squeal that he'd recognized. That had meant Jess too, was around. "Hey fox-boy." His voice hadn't changed, well, it had gotten deeper, but it was virtually the same. He'd yet to notice Tanya, for he'd not yet let his senses out to see if there were any demons nearby. Walking silently over to the red-haired kitsune he paused, glancing upwards to see where exactly, his spirit beast had gotten to. With a sigh, his gaze was brought back down to earth, ruby eyes directed towards his old friend and ally, "Long time no see ne?"

Kurama gave a small laugh and followed his gaze for a moment to the sky. Puu did attract a lot of attention. It was a nice feeling though, to hear the spirit beast's powerful wingbeat, and his counterpart's familiar voice again in Ningenkai. Definately something that triggered memories. "It's been a while," he agreed with a smile. The sudden squeal convinced him to glanced back into the trees. There were other demons nearby, he could now tell, but he recognized the aura, and had no reason to worry. A quiet sigh escaped his lips as he turned his thoughts toward the reason why Yusuke was here. Hiei had given him a brief explaination, and left before giving any details. "So, how long has Koenma been missing?" he questioned, solemnity returning in his voice.

Jess landed, her obsidian wings pinioning neatly behind her. As soon as she saw Yusuke she grinned. "Hey, Yusuke.", she greeted him, ears twitching. You could tell she'd been in a few battles since they'd last met. The hybrid's arm had a twisting red scar from elbow to the back of her wrist. Also a faded scar ran around the left side of her throat, crossing the older one that was there. Her bronze hair was bound up in a braid as well. But that one floppy ear remained as always a reminder that insie, Jess hadn't changed from her playful, but untamed self.
