He sighed, why in Kami's name was he even trying to lie to Kurama? Had he completely gone stupid? "No...I'm not sure." He finally stated after brief moments debate. Puu finally found space to land in, glaring over at Yusuke. He would have wacked him soundly with a wing had he not been in such a deplorable state. However, the large phoenix settled for crooning at Kurama in such a way it sounded oddly like telling on Yusuke. How amusing. The Spirit Detective merely groaned and glared back at his spirit beast, his bangs falling over his eyes.

Kurama gave a light smile, glancing past Yusuke at the giant spirit beast. At least his counterpart knew the toushin couldn't keep lying about this. "You don't need to lie to me. Besides, it's hard not to worry if I'm unsure of what's going on," he said, turning back toward the Yusuke. It was unnerving to have to guess at problems, since one usualy assumed the worst. "Whatever it is, just let me help you." He'd nearly forgotten about the demons around them, his mind focusing instead on the spirit detective.

Yusuke sighed, "I wish I could tell ya...But I barely remember what happened myself." Oh, he remembered more of it now, but he wasn't going to tell them that. "We needa find Kuwabara and get Hiei so we can get out of here." The spirit detective knew he needed to rest, but he would never be able to with Koenma and Botan in the grasp of the demon that was currently trying to take over the Makai. He just hoped Kuwabara would still be willing to help them. After all, the human part of their team probably had his own life to live now."

Kurama glanced back briefly into the forest. So, he was still willing to go on with the case, even in his condition. Again his stubborness could cause him trouble, but he always seemed to get the results he wanted anyways, so that raised Kurama's confidence a bit. He could still tell Yusuke wasn't telling the whole truth, but he felt he didn't need to know all the details. "Hiei can find Kuwabara, you need to take it easy for now," he said. True, it was hard to rest at all with so much running through one's mind, but spending even more energy on doing anything else wouldn't be any help either.

Of course, stubborn people always do stupid things. Yusuke shook his head in protest and took a step forward. Well, that was the wrong thing to do. It sent a seering pain up his spine and he dropped to his knees, hands placed flat on the ground as he tried to keep himself from falling totally onto the ground. Kami, please don't let Kurama touch his back. Not only did it hold lash marks, the young Toushin had been branded as well. And the demon had done something else to him, something that had yet to show itself. He didn't know exactly how he knew, he simply did. Intuition perhaps? Feh, who cares, as long as it didn't interfere with the case. If it did, well...Let it be after he ripped the demon to pieces.

A tremendously lofty, though well-built young man threw open an otherwise solitary sliding sallow door. Kazuma tossed his skull about violently, clump of carroty hair straining slightly against the weak breeze this sort of unnecessary movement tended to create. 'Guess she’s...not here.’ He stumbled from the threshold wearing a grave sweat-sodden look as he approached his partners in crime, hefty hands stuffed idly in his white jacket pockets.
Ooc|There, happy Yusuke? *___*

(Yes, Yusuke is happy now. -grins-)
"Darn iiit." His voice was muffled, teeth clenched as he pushed himself up to his knees, his rather pointed demon teeth prominent as he formed the words. One could easily tell he was frustrated with his condition. He'd thought he'd been doing better, yet now it seemed he was doing worse. 'How nice.' Oh what a time for sarcastic thoughts. Of course, Yusuke had never been one for 'ideal times'. He didn't dare try to stand right then, no telling what that would cause.

"...Urameshi?" He paused scanning over the quite peculiar scene with a mixed sense of premonition and worry. "Urameshi! What the heck did I tell ya'!?" He obviously had quite the wrong idea stuffed inside his pretty little head as he rushed over to his comrades’ aid...no matter how you put it; it was hardly a very nice sight for sore eyes..., which his had become over the years.

Ruby eyes shot open at the voice, "Kuwabara?" He questioned, looking up at his taller comrade, "What's your problem. Look at yourself, getting all excited." He stayed in his position only a moment longer before lurching heavily to his feet, ignoring, as much as he could, the pain he held in his back. He couldn't help but allow a smirk to form over his features, he'd not seen his friend in years, and he'd missed him, whether he would admit it or not.

He seemed taken aback, his upper body nearly thrown backward at the hip, which was rare. He looked disgusted to a certain degree. "Ya...you can't be serious about leavin' in this condition!" He was in all senses against heading out to the slaughter in the first place, but now he had a reason to buy them atleast a little time.

"Actually, I am serious." He winced once, "That jerk has Koenma and Botan, and I ain't letting him get away with that." He stated rather vehemently, clutching his fist to his side. His expression dared anyone to try and stop him. Hiei had already agreed to help, the toushin having talked to the little fire apparition in the demon realm. His demon form my have made him lok rather formidable, but he was still Yusuke just the same.

"Urameshi..." he whispered gutturally though clenched teeth and tight jaw. That new tidbit of information had in fact been the difference maker; they would need to work quickly to ensure the captives safety. "Alright...then why the heck' are we just standin' around talkin'?!" His flame had for the moment been rekindled...though the fact that he had narrowly missed his love had of course put a damper on his day.

The young toushin grinned lightly, "I thought you'd say that." He stood fully, and looked over at Puu, who crooned lightly. He would definitely need the spirit beast's help if he was going to create another portal so soon. He took a few steps towards Puu before faltering, nearly falling again.
(I gotta go, seeya!)

Kurama watched almost with pity as the toushin attempted to walk again. "Yusuke you can't go looking for them like this. It's nearly suicide if you can hardly walk, let alone defend yourself," he said, trying again to convince him to change his mind. If he did happen to find the demon who started this whole mess, without any defense he'd be throwing himself to the sharks, and that obviously wouldn't help any of them at all. Speed would mean nothing if they got nothing done because of it. Still the spirit detective's stubborness and determination usualy sprung him out of seemingly hopeless situations, and if the redhead's last attempt didn't work, he'd just have to go along with Yusuke's plan.

Listen to your friend or else you won't complete what your trying to do." She said out loud, and rather serious. This rumor passed her a some time ago, just from a threat she gave someone, but that really didn't matter. Yes, her mind was in a terrible state, and her vision. She would get better if she went home, and took some pills. It would soothe her mind and soul. Not really, but it would be some improvement. She continued to stand behind the tree, but finally poked her head out. Some blurred figured, but of course she knew people were there. With some color she could assume who was who, and title them as inferred. "Just more trouble."
