Jess shrugged, muttering "Well, I'm able to stand up and talk cohearantly.", then snorted. After Yusuke took his leave, the red-brown-eyed girl had become practically a one-person army, taking on challenge after challenge, no matter how insane. Actually, many had spoke of her as being 'mad as a Cheshire Cat'. Her official title now, besides Drakk Slayer, was Shadow Berserker. Didn't change a thing for her, though. The only reason she did this was for the realization that, unlike the prophecies fortold of 'Shada Kira's heir', she had not lost her soul. She was mortal, and proud of it.

Yusuke shook his head, "I saw that Grandma died." He sounded...Distant when he spoke of his late teacher. He'd talked to her only once after leaving Ningenkai, when she'd come to visit him before she died. He missed her. Of course, the Toushin missed a lot of things lately, his old friends being a few of them.

The hybrid nodded, her ridiculous ears flopping. "I miss her, too.", she muttered. The mentor had taken care of Jess for a short period of time soon after her parents death at the hands of the Toguro Brothers. So many people close to her had died...Ari, her parents, Macha, Genkai. The only things she had to remember them by were scars, and the ancient talisman locket around her neck.

"I wish I'd have been here...Have you...Have you heard from any of the others?" He didn't look up when he asked, content with staring lightly at the floor as though it had suddenly become the most interesting thing in the world. He'd never been that good at hiding his emotions when it came to his friends, and shame rolled off of him in waves.

Jess smiled grimly. "Not really. Except for Hiei.", she replied, running a hand over her tail. The two Forbidden Children had remained aqquainted after the tournament. The fact that they were both hybrids, technically, gave them a certain bond. "He's gonna be mad at you at first, but that's just Hiei. Really, he'd be happy to see you.", she continued, looking up at the raven-haired toushin. "We've missed you." (G2g, be back tomorrow!)

Yusuke snorted, "Hiei? Happy? The seventh level of Hell'd freeze over first." He replied with a look of disbelief. In truth, Hiei hadn't really been all that bitter towards him, it had mostly just been him, Kuwabara, and Kurama that had...fallen out. "Missed me? I didn't think anyone would. I just...Needed space after the tournament and...What happened." He never told anyone what Merkio had done to him, but then, he refused to talk about it.
(-nods- Alrighty.)

((-shrugs- I have nothing to do so why not join? .. @_@ I'm like half asleep right now....-going to go back to sleep after this post-)) Two animals were now headed in the direction of Yusuke and Jess. Two very wet animals that is. They had been looking for shelter from the rain and happened to come across Genkai¡¯s shrine. They¡¯ve been they before, five years earlier to be exact, but something was different now. Two presences were now there, that they could clearly recognize. Five years had past from the tournament, five years after they¡¯d last seen any people. The two demonic canines, one larger than the other, came around the corner. They had helped Kay with the judging of the tournament and had begun to know some of the contenders very well. During the past 5 years various things had changed. Ketiro, once a golden retriever mix was now a seemingly a golden colored coyote. He had bore many scars, a long jagged mark flew across his shoulder left by one of his many fights in the wild. A diamond mark was on his forehead, from a fight with his least favorite vampire, Aubrey. The only thing that remained the same was his eyes, they were still a chocolaty brown color that was full of life an energy. His companion, Kai, on the other hand, didn¡¯t change as much only to get more fierce in the time being, he still resembled somewhat of a husky, but looked much more like a wolf, he was the older of the two, and like his buddy, had many war scars. Being the older of the two meant fighting more. He bore various marks on his body; red lines ran across his chest. An ancient language was encrypted in his right leg. Ketiro had the same, only it was on his left leg. The two still could change back into their regular dog forms, but nowadays, the world was dangerous and on one could be trusted. As the walked around the corner, the familiar aura had gotten to the point that they knew who the two people were. Yusuke and Jess. Ketiro had changed into his golden form and bounded toward the temple door, happy to see some familiar faces from the tournament and happy to be dry and out of the rain. He almost crashed right into Yusuke. He bowed down ¡®Greetings Yusuke-sama, Jess-sama¡¯ he said in telepathy, his politeness was one of his few traits that remained with him thoughout the years. Telepathy, was the only way for him to communicate with demons and humans alike.

"Hello, Ketiro.", Jess said, before something very large and very scaly trampled in. Sha-Rin was ecstatic to see Yusuke again, and bumped his head against the toushin like a cat. The water-dragon lifted his head and opened his mouth to make a noise, but nothing came out. A long, straight scar, obviously from a knife or sword, ran along his neck. Something had gotten to his voicebox. He was mute now. But the dragon didn't even seem to know. He just continued to glomp Yusuke, at least as well as a dragon could without squashing someone.

Kai walked into the room shaking his soaked fur, and spraying everyone in the room wiht rain water. He blinked then asked, so, how's everyone doing?
Very wet Ketiro replied in his dry sense of humor. He walked over to Jess Did something happen to Sha-Rin? he asked. It seemed as if everyone was getting injuries these days....

The toushin nodded to the two of them, well, as best he could while getting glomped by a dragon, "Sha-Rin, Puu's outisde." He managed to get out, hoping that the dragon had missed his Spirit beast enough to leave him and go see the giant phoenix. He laughed though, at the dragon's antics and shook his black-maned head. It had been awhile since he'd laughed this much. It was rather refreshing to tell the truth.

Ketiro layed down in an orderly fashion. It seemed as if everything fell apart between the group of four. In the past couple years, he found out secrets that were not meant to be told. He promised Kay that would keep him secret after all, it could endanger him and Kai.
Kai's ears perked up, Puu was outside? He dashed outside to see the phoenix, nearly crashing into Yusuke on the way. It's been awhile since he's seen Puu, he couldn't wait to see him. Reunions were always fun, but thay also had a hyper effect on people...

The Spirit Beast shot out to find Puu, flying circles around the large bird. Jess nodded to Ketiro. "Big battle, had my back turned. Some vackting moron managed to miss his vitals, but nicked his vocal cords or something. He doesn't really seem to notice, though." Her tail twitched around slightly, flicking off the little pellets of rainwater that had gathered on her tail. And, as usual, one of her ears flopped down.

The large phoenix was rather ecstatic at seeing old friends again, and gave a rather loud screech. He'd been expressively forbidden by Yusuke to fly around lest someone see him, but that didn't mean he could run around the ground.
Yusuke merely shook his head as he looked out at the Spirit Beast's. Puu had enjoyed it in the Makai for awhile, but then he'd started to miss his old friends. He was, after all, a reflection of Yusuke's soul. He looked back at the other two.

Sha-Rin playfully nipped at the phoenix's tailfeathers, wanting to play. Meanwhile, Jess went a little cross-eyed trying to see the limp ear. Then the other one had to go and be a copycat. The hybrid grumbled, looking to Yusuke and saying "Well, some things just don't change..."

Ketiro chuckled I know what you mean.... Kai weaved in and out the phoenix's legs. Then he ran in circles happlily barking for a game of tag. This could be interesting.... Ketiro muttered....
